Here to listen, to empower, to elicit change
How do you feel about your life as it is right now?
What would you like to change about it, and what might be getting in the way?
Though symptom management is an important part of therapy, I help clients get to the root of their concerns, and make meaningful, sustainable changes.
I enjoy working with those who are motivated to better understand themselves and improve their quality of life, especially as they navigate challenges related to anxiety or lack of confidence (in personal and/or professional life), life transitions, work-life balance, and relationships. One unique passion of mine is helping clients with anticipatory, common, and complicated grief related to pet loss. I work closely with caring veterinarians who recognize the beauty and importance of the relationships we have with "pets," and I deeply value such relationships myself.
Whether we engage in short or long-term therapy, the focus and goals of our work together depend on clients' values, the kind of person they want to be, and the kind of life they want to live. Should we work together, we can increase your self-awareness and understand how you came to think, feel, and behave as you do now. I will help you to use that awareness and understanding to cultivate self-acceptance, harness your strengths, develop effective coping skills, and live in a way that is congruent with your own values and goals. Together, we can identify what fulfills you, and what you can do to build the life (including the kind of relationships) you want.
